FESTIVAL SUCCESS FOR NAPTON

If you weren't there you missed a really fantastic day.

All the comments and feedback confirmed what an absolutely great day it was, enhanced by the beautiful sunshine that stopped with us all afternoon.

The committee worked hard during 2007 leading up to the Festival to put on an even better show that the 2006 Festival and the hard work certainly paid off.

We had the added attraction of more Trade Stands, the fantastic colourful Fairground and most important of all we had some really great music from a huge selection of bands that performed brilliantly.

We believe there was something for everyone - from Jilted Generation to The Hollies, now there's a generation gap for you!

The Camp Site this year was packed with a great Festival crowd and in 2008 we will be looking to provide more facilities to encourage people to stop over for the Friday evening .

Our two headline bands created interest in different ways. The Hollies being a very well known band still touring Britain and having a huge catalogue of classic pop songs behind them, performed songs that many people related to, pure nostalgia! Probably best listened to in the comfort of a nice warm concert hall.

On the other hand the Sweet, performed some classic 70's songs, and seemed more at home at the Festival and they really did rock. Yes we all noticed how Andy Scott was a bit distracted with his monitor, but it didn't stop everyone enjoying a great set. This was only the Sweet's second UK date in 2007 as they mainly play Europe, so it created a lot off interest with dedicated fans, one had travelled from Cornwall!

The Music Marquee created the best of atmosphere and we chose the bands carefully to play there. If you wanted to get warm in the evening this was the place to be and we look forward to providing this venue again within the 2008 Festival site.

We learnt a lot from the 2007 Festival and in 2008 are confident that we can put on even better day great day of music to suit just about everybody.

If you were there, thanks for coming along, if you weren't, we would love to see you at the 2008 Napton Music Festival.
